The Prospector at Aspen

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Here’s something I’ve rarely seen in 18 years. RCI has one Extra Vacation week in the Prospector in Aspen. It’s in a one bedroom that sleeps 6 maximum and RCI is charging $548.99 for the week. Check-in is November 30 2008.

Move quickly if you want this. There is already almost 2 feet of base with more snow on the way.

This is one of the best deals I’ve ever seen for RCI Extra Vacations and although the Prospector is a little old, you can’t beat the location. It’s right in the heart of the town.

Each unit features a beautiful view of Aspen Mountain, deck or patio, a sauna, whirlpool spa, fireplace, Internet access, television with VCR, telephone and a partial kitchen with an under counter refrigerator, microwave oven, electric skillet, garbage disposal and no conventional oven. All units are 1BR OCC: Max 4/Pri 4 with 1 bath, 1 queen bed and 1 Murphy bed. No pets are allowed at the resort. It is not necessary to have a car, as most attractions are within walking distance.

I just checked the Prospector’s rental rate for the same dates and the room is listed at $275/night plus tax. You’d pay $2,100/week at that rate or you can get it now from RCI for only $549. A great deal.

The only other timeshare in Aspen is the Hyatt Grand Aspen in Interval International.

Christmas Vacation 2009

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

It’s not even Thanksgiving and believe it or not, it’s already time for those of you who want to take a timeshare Christmas Vacation in 2009 to get that request going.

The timeshares having the most demand will be located in ski areas in Colorado like Telluride, Aspen, Vail or Beaver CreekLake Tahoe and Whistler British Columbia will have far more requests than available weeks as well.

Warm beach areas like Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and the Caribbean will be very high demand as well.

One of the biggest challenges you’ll ever face when exchanging is trying to get a holiday.  Your competition, the people who do get holidays, are the savviest exchangers in the industry.

While you don’t necessarily need to own a Premier or Gold Crown resort on the beach in Maui to exchange for a holiday week, you do need to know both how to maximize your exchange power, and just as important, how to strategically put in that request.

In a series of short articles I’ll give you some great insider trading secrets to help you get to where you want to go.

That’s all for now.  More tips in the next post.
